Multibuild has completed a full design and build refurbishment at a former BT exchange overlooking the ancient Roman amphitheatre in Chester. The mixed use development includes office space over three floors with an internal parking area, restaurants, bars and retail outlets on the ground floor, plus a hotel development. This project has marked the first time ever in the UK that aluminium conservation style windows have been used to meet Council requirements and Multibuild also matched all materials used in the new extension with the existing building to maintain its period aesthetic. Limited access on-site required careful project planning and logistics management by Multibuild to manage deliveries during strict time-frames. With only one point of access onto the site through a road shared with an adjacent office block, Multibuild provided a flexible approach to the client?s needs to ensure disruption was kept to a minimum.
