Health and Safety

Myself and the Directors of Multibuild all recognise that good health and safety management can contribute to the overall performance of our business and will lead to the well being of our employees and we are very proud of our Number One Ethic within our Mission Statement which is “Health and Safety is our No 1 priority – whatever the expense”.

Overall responsibility for health and safety lies with the Chief Executive Mike Peden. However each employee has their own duty to act responsibly, to actively participate in carrying out the company policy and to co-operate with others to minimise the likelihood of accidents and dangerous occurrences. Health and safety performance is measured and compliance monitored by the Health and Safety Department which is headed up by Claire Oakes. Arrangements are in place for specialist third party advice to be provided where necessary.

The company recognises that its employees are the strength of the business and that it is the responsibility of the board to provide information, instruction, training and supervision to allow them to carry out their duties without risks to the health and safety of themselves or others.

Health and safety is an integral part of our management system and affects decisions at every stage of our business; from employee selection, to training and operations on site. At the core of our Health and Safety Management System is the commitment to provide safe working methods which eliminate, so far as is reasonably practicable, risks to our employees, the employees of other contractors and companies and others who may be affected by our undertakings.

We are also committed to improving our performance by investigating accidents and incidents, the review of project inspection reports on a monthly basis, the annual review of inspection reports on a company-wide basis and by the formal review of this policy, which will be carried out annually, as a minimum.

Good health and safety management will lead to an improved working environment, a healthy workforce and an improvement in productivity which all form the route to continued growth and security for both the company and all of its employees.
